A bridal wreath – a regal bride

The phrase “a queen for a day” explains the feeling of every woman in love wearing a bridal wreath on her head on her wedding day – a day that is like a royal coronation ceremony, and a coronation needs a crown. This is an element that no other woman there will place on her head, and it is quite possible that until her wedding day she never did so herself (except, perhaps, when she dressed up as the queen of the stars). The very act of placing the wreath on her head defines her, from that moment on, as the most regal woman there – the one with the crown. The princess of the event, the star of the wedding and the undisputed queen of that day.

And because of that – because for many women wearing a crown is not an everyday habit, and because they dream and wait for the long-awaited day when, by virtue of being brides, they will finally be able to wear one – they go and buy a bridal wreath unlike any other, one which, like every other part of the look, has to be matched to the hair, to the rest of the jewelry, to the dress and even to the shoes.

Because a bride’s perfection on her wedding day comes not only from what nature gave her, but also from her personal taste – and it is well known that already a few months before the wedding she starts trying on dresses, visiting the stores of bridal jewelry designers, and planning her hairstyle together with the ornaments, one of which may well be a head wreath. A bride’s look on her wedding day usually includes a dress (and some change at least three over the course of the evening), shoes that are sometimes changed to match the dresses, and jewelry. They are a very important part of designing her bridal style. They of course have to suit the dress and its style, which is why there is no doubt that the first item every bride chooses carefully, measuring and checking a thousand times, is the dress – because it is the dress that dictates the overall look and the design direction you have chosen.

There are brides who love to look as though they have just stepped out of the shower with a perfect, effortless look, exactly as fashion dictates today: a white dress that is not overly fussy, one that sits on the border between rustic and classic and, above all, flatters the body – because that is what matters. And she will also choose the shoes to go with the dress, or with all three of them, and of course she will do that with great care too, because she is not a bride every day and people do not get married every day.

And there will always be one accessory that many women long for, because it is the one that gives them the feeling of being a queen for a day – and now the day has come. And then the bride will choose the bridal wreath that will turn her, as if by a magic wand, into a queen.

One of the most important things for every bride is not to look like, or bring to mind, a friend of hers who got married not long ago. Many times, at the stage of choosing the dress, brides-to-be genuinely rule out a great many dresses on the grounds of “she had one, and this one is similar”. The inner feeling of a bride on her wedding day is that there is no one else like her in the whole world – and that is true: there is no one else like her who will walk today towards her beloved on her wedding day. That is why it is so important not to arrive at the last week before the wedding without a precise plan and a clear idea of what you want to wear – because as the date approaches, it is safe to assume that the bride is under a good deal of stress.

A bride is a queen; that has always been clear and well known, and the wreath testifies to it. She will be the only woman in the world to have the crown, the only one who can wear a wedding gown like a queen’s dress and feel utterly on cloud nine – because this really is the most important day of her life up to that moment.

And if it is a bridal wreath, then let it truly look like a crown; there are pieces set with Swarovski stones or pearls that really do look like a crown on the head. And you can always ask the designer to see more models before deciding. The best approach is to look at something and, to avoid getting confused, go with the first model that caught your eye before you get lost in indecision – because that is what tends to happen.
