Bridal jewelry that is one of a kind

After the wedding dress itself, bridal jewelry is one of the most important items of all. These are usually enchanting, delicate pieces that carry something of the glam, the sparkle and the princess-like quality every bride wants on her big day.

Some brides choose statement pearl earrings alongside a delicate bracelet; others a hair accessory with understated earrings, and so on. Every woman and what she loves – and above all, what suits the dress, the shoes, the hairstyle and the look she wants to create. There are all kinds of looks. There is the bride with a natural, clean look, where everything is delicate: the make-up, the hair, the dress and, to match, the jewelry;
brides with a hippie, boho-chic look; and brides with a glam, radiant, sexy look. Choosing the look starts with the dress, but it continues with choosing the jewelry. Those are what will ultimately complete and sharpen the overall look and elevate it.

The combination of bridal jewelry and the dress has to be clear. They need to live in harmony side by side and complement one another. Every bridal look has plenty of jewelry options. In the end she will choose what suits her taste, and very often comfort comes into it too. If she is going to be wearing these pieces for several hours, they have to feel comfortable.

Types of bridal jewelry – hair accessories

Hair accessories are one of the most sought-after items in the bridal jewelry field today. Hairpins, headbands and back headbands, hair chains and more.

There are also hairpins that can be slipped into any hairstyle, in leaf and flower designs set with Swarovski stones and pearls, in intricate, delicate handwork. The materials the pieces are made from are brass with 24k gold plating, silver plating, blackened silver and rose gold.

How do you match jewelry to a wedding dress?

There are all kinds of bridal looks. Only once the dress has been chosen can we match the jewelry. It depends on the fabric the dress is made of and on its cut. Does it have a neckline, or none? Is it lace? Is it a plain fabric?

Whether it is hair accessories, bracelets or bridal earrings, the first decision has to be which kind of jewelry she needs. Does she need earrings and a bracelet, or earrings and a hair accessory? That of course depends on her hairstyle too.

If her hair is loose, in brushed waves for example, we would recommend hair accessories that suit that – ones that will not fall out of the hair, such as a headband or a back headband (which do not need to grip the hair). And if she has an updo, there needs to be a match between the hair accessory and the hairstyle: for a tousled bun, or hair gathered into a chignon, a pin at the side, a delicate flower, or a fine headband with pearls and sparkling Swarovski stones would suit her.

If her dress has real presence or is full of detail, we would recommend she stick to matching earrings and a bracelet, without a headpiece. As a rule, a bridal jewelry designer will want to see the dress and shoes in advance before matching the jewelry to her.

Are you a classic look or a glam one?

There are brides who will not give up the queen/princess look under any circumstances. A full dress with layers at the bottom. The princess look goes with a crown or a headpiece set with Swarovski, with an enchanting, noble presence.  There are brides who love the classic look, which also connects to their natural look. That comes through in the choice of hairstyle and dress too. Clean and precise. A smooth dress with straight, clean lines.

As a rule, brides wearing dominant dresses will wear delicate jewelry that does not steal the show or compete with it – jewelry that simply completes the look and lights up the face.

And conversely, brides with clean dresses will want to enrich the look through the jewelry, which becomes the source of the glam and the light.
